AltFormat Production Center

The Adaptive Technology Center's AltFormat Production Center is currently setting up a pilot project of scanning printed text into electronic files to determine the feasibility of providing this service to New Jersey’s college students with eligible disabilities.

The AltFormat Production Center recognizes the need to provide students with timely access to texts in alternate formats. The primary audience who will benefit from this pilot project will be college students in New Jersey who cannot access printed texts.

The Adaptive Technology Center's AltFormat Production Center Program is available to students enrolled in New Jersey colleges or post-secondary institutions.

This project is supported with funds for, the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education. It is part of the Special Needs Program which assists colleges in their efforts to provide accommodations to students with disabilities. This program represents "reasonable accommodations" under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
