What types of assistive technology does the Adaptive Technology Center have available?

The Adaptive Technology Center has an extensive inventory of equipment for students with disabilities. 

Who can borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center?

You may borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center if you are a college student with a disability who presently attends college in New Jersey and are registered with your college's Disability Support Office.

Can a student who lives in New Jersey, but attends college in another state borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center?

No.

Can a high school student borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center?

No.

How can I borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center?

The borrowing procedures are described in the NJ Lending Program page.

What forms are needed to borrow equipment from the Adaptive Technology Center?

The college where the student is attending must fill out a College Lending Agreement and the student must complete the Student Lending Agreement.

Does the Adaptive Technology Center provide trainings or give presentations?

Yes.  The Adaptive Technology Center conducts workshops for Disability Support Staff, faculty, staff members and college students on different types of assistive technology.  Workshops can be hands-on or a lecture/demo.  For sample workshops see the Assistive Technology Training page.

Are there colleges in NJ that specialize in specialize in serving students with disabilities?

Yes.  There are eight Regional Centers across New Jersey that provide additional support services for students with special needs.  Please visit the NJ Regional Center's page for more detailed information.
