Available Formats

  • DAISY - DAISY stands for Digital Accessible Information SYstem. DAISY books that we produce will offer full text and synchronized audio with a synthetic voice.  Our DAISY books can be searched by chapter, words, and other appropriate headings.  DAISY books can be played by various software programs and hardware devices.  Our loan program may be able to provide students with software and hardware needs.  The DAISY file is what is usually recommended by our program.
  • MP3 - This format can be played in a device that plays MP3 files or on a computer with software that plays MP3 files.  These files are not searchable.  Usually a book will have a separate MP3 file for each chapter.
  • Text file - A text file can be opened by many programs and some hardware devices such as a PDA.  It can be read with a screen reader program.  These files also retain formatting structure, tables and charts.
  • Braille - These files can be opened by a Braille device such as a BrailleNote.  These files may need further editing to be embossed and read as a hard copy.
  • Large Print - We can create a document with the font size you request ensuring that all fonts stay within the minimum and maximum size you prefer.  We can use the styles and colors you prefer or retain the current documents colors.  Remove or add blank lines to the document, remove the left indent, and fit images appropriately to the document.  Page numbering will be consistent with that of the original document.
  • PDF Files –Scanned as text,  not editable, can be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader and read with a separate program TextAloud
